4th Marking Period Project on Religions

TWO THINGS ARE DUE ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd, YOUR PROJECT and a BIBLIOGRAPHY (A page with a list of all the sources you used).

You have the choice between three different projects. You choose ONE of the three projects. Whichever one you choose, it is due Tuesday, February 23rd (that is the first Tuesday after the break).

Option 1) On a posterboard, you will fill out the following on a religion that is NOT your own. You must get your religion approved by me (so post on the blog what you want to do it on or email me. You MAY NOT begin your project if you do not get the O.K. from me). You must include a MINIMUM of two images. Also, include your bibliography on the back.

Option 2) Create your own religion. You must create a posterboard (using the chart below) to fill in all the information about your religion. This option allows you to be very creative. (Make sure you keep it appropriate). Minimum of two images. Also, include your bibliography on the back.

Option 3) Write a two page paper comparing two different sects/branches of the SAME religion. You must give both similarities and differences. For example, you might want to write a paper comparing the similarities and differences between Roman Catholicism and Jehovah’s Witnesses, or a paper comparing both the similarities and differences between Sunni Muslims and Shiite Muslims. You have to compare DIFFERENT branches of the SAME religion. Also, include your bibliography as the last page.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DECIDE, YOU MUST RUN IT BY ME FIRST. THEREFORE, EMAIL ME OR POST ON THIS BLOG WHAT YOU WANT TO DO YOUR PROJECT ON AND ON WHAT TOPICS. ONCE YOU GET AN APPROVAL FROM ME, YOU MAY BEGIN.
